When the teacher asked for volunteers for people to lead the groups, I volunteered to do Mormonism, and used it as a chance to announce to the class I was Mormon. Our group talked about various aspects of Mormonism for about half an hor and then presented our discussion points to the class.Kim Sieverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17063425850647687800noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-290856718634377892.post-80020340779139950212012-11-24T10:25:00.000-07:002012-11-25T10:25:14.162-07:00United OrderI was visiting with someone today, and we got on the subject of the United Order, so it was an opportunity to talk about thatKim Sieverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17063425850647687800noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-290856718634377892.post-90347454357462667762012-11-17T10:18:00.000-07:002012-11-25T10:18:24.747-07:00Islam and Word of WisdomI was having a conversation with someone today who asked me if I drink coffee from a popular coffee shop. When I told him no, he asked if I don’t drink coffee from there or if I don’t drink coffee at all. I told him I never drink coffee. When he asked why, I told him it was because of my religion. It gave us a chance to talk about the Word of Wisdom and Muslim dietary laws (he is Muslim).Kim Sieverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17063425850647687800noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-290856718634377892.post-66650304065235005392012-09-30T15:48:00.001-06:002012-09-30T15:48:46.588-06:00FacebookAn old classmate of mine contacted me on Facebook the other day with several questions about the church. I answered them as best I could, but the reason she asked me was because she knows I'm Mormon. She know I'm Mormon because I mentioned it several times during discussions in class last year. This is specifically why I try to incorporate the gospel into every day discussion: that others may know I'm Mormon and will feel comfortable coming to me with questions. Before I can answer, she clarified by asking if I was religious. I said I was Mormon. Oddly enough, she knows very little about the church. She didn't even know about missionaries. After rehearsal tonight, I was chatting with a co-actor about directing (she is a drama teacher and directs a play each spring).
